Teikoku Databank, Ltd. and Oracle Corp. Japan joined hands in the centralized customer data management business (2005.6.22)

Combination of the TDB's domestic most extensive corporate information database and the Oracle's data integration technologies made it possible for all the departments to use centralized customer information.

We announce that Teikoku Databank, Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as TDB, address: Minami Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo, president & representative director: Nobuo Goto) and Oracle Corp. Japan (hereinafter referred to as Oracle, address: Kioi-cho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, president & representative director: Masaaki Shintaku) entered into a business tie-up on June 15, 2005. This business alliance is aimed at developing the centralized customer data management system by combining the Oracle's data integration software 'Oracle Customer Data Hub' (*1) and TDB's corporate information database 'COSMOS2' (*2).

To quickly respond to changes in the markets and make immediate decisions, corporations invest in various areas including installation of package applications into their marketing systems. In fact, however, it is not a small number of corporations that are not utilizing the customer information properly, because that information is often stored separately in such systems as order receipt management, account receivable management, support management, online marketing and so on, besides the marketing systems. For instance, using different systems separately in the credit department and the marketing department makes it difficult to determine how much credits one has collected or how much credits are at risk, making its credit control insufficient.

In the centralized customer data management solutions realized by this business tie-up, every customer information stored separately by each department is centralized through the Oracle Customer Data Hub and the centralized information is made a set with TDB Company Code (*3) registered on COSMOS2 so that all the departments can access online the specific customer's information regarding accounts receivable, personnel in charge, commodity trading and the like as single data. In addition, different notation systems used in each department are standardized on the basis of that applied by the COSMOS2 to allow corporations to reduce database maintenance costs. These solutions also realize low-cost and immediate information integration when they need to integrate systems due to mergers and M&A activities. TDB will also provide risk management solutions services that meet each customer's needs for credit control.

The centralized customer data make it possible for corporations not only to increase operating efficiency and realize improvement in customer satisfaction, but also to expand services and create new businesses through utilization of the customer data. Besides, because the centralized customer data facilitate the credit control of customers who have dealings with several departments at a time, corporations are able to utilize the customer information from all sides of offense and defense, allowing them to expand businesses while maximizing value of the customer information.

Along with expansion in the Oracle's Data Hub solutions services, TDB and Oracle will continue to develop new solutions services for corporate problems.
